Yordy Cabrera has raw right-handed power, which is the tool that is going to make him a first-round pick. He has some competitive secondary tools – speed and an arm you can use – but let’s be serious. The dollar sign is on the power.

Scouting Video: Yordy Cabrera, INF, Lakeland (FL) Senior HS (2010 Draft)

Yordy Cabrera will be the talk of South Florida scouting this spring. Cabrera, who committed to play college baseball at Miami, won the Aflac home run derby this summer in an event we covered here. First look: 2010 Draft Prospects (High School infielders)

Continuing our sneak peak at the 2010 MLB Draft here in September, eight months before the draft, here is the first look at infielders. We’ve divided up the prospects by first basemen, third basemen and middle infielders. As we said in our 2010 High School Pitchers Draft Prospect List, always take follow-lists with a grain of salt simply because of the nature of baseball. Some will rise, some will fall, and some will come out of nowhere, guys who should be here, that we haven’t seen or heard of yet.

Yordy Cabrera wins Aflac Home Run Derby

Yordy Cabrera will never get to the University of Miami with showings like this. He won the AFLAC home run derby Sunday afternoon at Petco Park.
