Kevin Franklin is one of these big corner types we see every few years out here in Southern California. The deal with this guy is he has raw power and doesn’t do much else, but power is hard to find, so somebody will take the chance that they can develop the other aspects of the game. Chances are there are people who will think this guy is too stiff for his own good or that he will have to watch his body, both of which are credible points. Then there are some who will say that you need to get a wood bat in his strong hands and let him go out and play everyday and see what you get. But this is the kind of guy who makes scouting interesting. Can this guy crush a ball? Sure. Will it take him places? Who knows.
