Josh Tobias is a hitter. Pure and simple and I feel pretty good about saying that. Granted this look is from BP, but what he gives us is consistent hard and solid contact. Trust me, very few guys gave me consistent hard contact that day. You can see it from both sides of the plate. You also see bat control here on inside pitches, the ability to pull his hands in and still get the fat part of the bat out front. That indicates hand strength and quickness. We’ll do more on him as we go along, because he impressed me a great deal.

Continuing our sneak peak at the 2011 MLB Draft here in September, eight months before the draft, here is the first look at infielders. We’ve divided up the prospects by first basemen, third basemen and middle infielders. As we said in our 2010 High School Pitchers Draft Prospect List, always take follow-lists with a grain of salt simply because of the nature of baseball. Some will rise, some will fall, and some will come out of nowhere, guys who should be here, that we haven’t seen or heard of yet.
