Scouting Video: Jed Bradley, LHP, Georgia Tech (2011 Draft)

Jed Bradley is putting on a clinic here for all aspiring high school left-handers. First of all, if you’re about 6-4, then you got a head start. Now, Bradley used to be 84-86 in high school. That was then. This is now. This is what dilligence, the weight room, the throwing program and physical maturity can do for you. What I love about Bradley here is how on top of the ball he is for all of his offerings, how closed his delivery is, how balanced and coordinated he is and how smooth he is. That makes him really tough on right-handed hitters, and that’s why that guy is going to pitch in the big leagues. First rounder in 2011.

Jed Bradley is what you look for. Find me something not to like in this video. Good body, smooth and easy arm action, arm works, excellent delivery and mechanics, high 3/4, a lot of balance and extension. Now what I would have liked to have seen is this kid in high school when he was throwing 85-86 and all the people dismissed him as not a pro prospect simply because he wasn’t ready for pro ball at that point in time. Well, guess what. He is now. A funny story about this video: it was shot while most of the cameras on the Cape were on Anthony Ranuado. Please, I have said it before, take Ranuado and leave me with this guy. Thank you.

Jed Bradley is a guy I’ve got to love. I had a lot of good looks at him on the Cape this summer and he was, by far, the best starter I saw. We’ll have a report and more video to come, but for now, this will get us started.
