By The Baseball Beginnings Guy

Kohl Stewart is apparently the big name from Texas this year. Every year, Texas always has a guy or two who can pick between pitching and playing quarterback in college. This was the guy who touched 95 at the Petco game. I had a lot of 94s. Lots of fastball run against right-handed hitters. Chance to develop an above-average slider. Chance to have an average change. I just told you his OFP without telling you his numbers. Loose arm, I’m on the record for saying the elbow sleeve scared me, and has a chance to be a number two starter based on my few looks at him in California over the summer. Good arm, yes, but really a guy who needs a lot of work. A guy who doesn’t have a lot of lower half stride. A guy asking his arm to do an awful lot. Really kind of looks like a quarterback pitching more than a pitcher at this point in time. So we’ll see what happens in the coming months.
