By The Baseball Beginnings Guy

Stryker Trahan is the name of an action figure. Oh, no, wait, he’s a catcher. See the reason this guy goes good is simple — left-handed hitting catcher, very strong for his age. Ran well, threw well, flashed raw power and he hit at the Area Codes. Risk? This guy has some stiff actions, so injuries are a concern. Early onset physical maturity also means a guy is often as good as he’s going to get early, so you really better have something, or the rest of the world will catch up to you. I know people fall in love with the performance and that makes a guy like this so top shelf. But you have to really say, reasonably, that there’s not much ceiling left here. He is what he is. Is it enough to be a first rounder? Sure. After that? We’ll see. I liked Swihart better.
