Top 12 with Video on the Compton Countdown: #8, Daniel Robertson
By The Baseball Beginnings Guy
March 8, 2012
Daniel Robertson is number 8 on the Compton Countdown.
Why: Loose hands work easy with the bat, gives hard contact. I’d like to see more lift, some would probably like to see more line drives, but you’re not having that discussion if you don’t think the guy can hit. He’s got a tall and lean body, and you’d dream on him because you think that ease would translate to power. He has the required secondary tools for a third baseman, the adequate arm strength and good hands and feet. If he doesn’t sign, he’ll be a good college player off the bat, and could really flourish in college and come out better on the other side. He looks like a growth spurt kicked in between Area Codes and now.
