Nick Castellanos is one of the best pure hitters in the 2010 draft class, high school or college.
Gifted with a tall and lanky frame that offers physical projection and the opportunity to stay at third base, Castellanos’s separating tool is his offense. With great hands and an what other players describe as an effortless swing, Castellanos shows the ability to let pitches get deep before going to center and right-center field with power. Defensively, he shows enough balance and athleticism to give him a chance to develop at third as a pro. Arm strength and running are adequate but do not project to be below-average. I would place him among the top five pure high school hitters.
